THE IAN MUIR SOUND is one of the busiest bands on the Scottish Dance Scene and have performed not only in their native Scotland but all over England and Northern Ireland as well as Eire. They are also well known to cruisers on the P&O cruise ship 'Canberraa' having featured on Scottish Theme Cruises for the company. Indeed the band along with dance caller Eric Finley will be cruising in November 1998 aboard the 'Victoria'.Lively, an interesting selection of tunes; you can't go far wrong here - Ian Brockbank. The basis of the band is essentially a trio - Ian Muir on accordion, Colin Bell on keyboards and Derek Hamilton on drums but for large functions the addition of a fiddle is often the order of the day and normally Gordon Simpson fills that roll admirably. For broadcasts Derek vacates the drum seat and young Scot Gordon ( son of famous Scottish entertainers Joe Gordon & Sally Logan ) sits in while Derek joins the front line on 2nd Accordion. Neil Macmillan joins the band on double bass. The full broadcasting band is featured on A SALUTE TO JIM JOHNSTONE.
THE IAN MUIR SOUND plays for a wide range of functions including weddings, ceilidhs, country dances, stage shows, accordion clubs and theme cruises.

Innistor has been successfully playing for Scottish ceilidhs in the South East for many years - for weddings, parties, Burn's Nights, etc. The accordion, fiddle and guitar are complemented by midi piano and bass played live via the accordion left hand, giving a full, lively, authentic Scottish sound. Our very experienced caller ensures that the choice and number of dances through the evening is suited to the gathering. We are a friendly bunch whose aim is to provide good music and dancing and an enjoyable evening. More information, pictures, sound samples etc, on our web-site www.innistor.co.uk.

In October 1997, Lilian formed a Scottish dance band (now called the Invercauld Scottish Dance Band), which plays for Scottish Country Dances and Balls, Weddings, Ceilidhs, St Andrew's Nights, Burns' Nights, Charity Dances and other fund-raising events, as well as Reeling Dances for Reelers, Parties and other functions with a Scottish flavour.
The Invercauld Scottish Dance Band has a vast repertoire of Scottish Music and aims to provide an exciting yet traditional sound, which is enjoyable for both dancers and listeners. The band normally consists of three or four musicians, consisting of fiddles, piano and occasionally accordion and/or drums. For Ceilidhs and Weddings, if a caller is required, the band has an excellent caller, and the lively music and calling together make for a great evening, with a tremendous atmosphere. Full PA equipment suitable for most halls.
Now based in Jersey and playing in Jersey, Channel Islands, the Invercauld Scottish Dance Band is however happy to travel occasionally to functions both in the UK and abroad.
Lilian has also composed Scottish tunes (some of which are on her CD recording), which are currently being played by numerous Bands.
